Darkness Looms in The Life of The Knight

In the Middle Ages, knights were highly trained, well-armed soldiers who fought on horseback for noblemen in exchange for land and status. However, in “The Days of Knight,” the knight is not after land or status. He is after something which has not been revealed in the film. However, there is more to it. In the film, a well-built man known as ‘Knight’ receives a call to retrieve an item from a location in Phoenix. However, he has a troubled past that haunts him. When he enters the building to retrieve the item, he realizes that he is being watched.

The 9-minute short film explores the mindset of a professional thug and touches on the idea that even mafia members are being monitored. The film begins with three messages that convey the decline of the knights’ glory days, and sets the tone for the rest of the story. As the plot unfolds, viewers are left wondering whether the assignment is real or a trap, and what will happen to Knight in the end. These two dilemmas make the film compelling and worth watching.

The writer-director John P Martinez has done an excellent job with his film, as it captivates the audience and keeps them engaged until the end. Each scene is like a new page of a novel, revealing something fresh every time. The writing is both original and compelling, keeping the viewers hooked throughout the film. The most intriguing aspect is the suspense that is maintained throughout. It’s worth noting that additional footage, sound effects, and special effects were provided by Artlist and Adobe Stock. The sound effects are particularly noteworthy as they instantly draw you into the film and maintain the suspense. However, the cinematography is the standout feature of the film, with each shot effectively capturing the tension. The soothing color palette adds to the overall mood and keeps the audience engaged.

The two actors, Anthony Martinez and John P Martinez, have pulled off a great feat. Anthony’s role as the Knight shows how much preparation he went through to perfect the character. Anthony has a towering presence in the film. He is well-built and strong, ready to fight against any kind of adversary. The use of a balaclava and robe is interesting as they create a barrier between the characters and the audience. It pauses audiences for a moment and lets them think more deeply about the film, making the characters more prominent. On the other hand, John P Martinez’s role as ‘The Being’ is minimal but strong enough to create a ripple at the end. He is tall like an Olympian wrestler, which is perfectly suited for the role.

Even though the film is only 9 minutes long, it leaves a lasting impact. It portrays the challenges modern ‘knights’ face in their work. The story’s simplicity and the way it is told make it worth watching. The film’s pacing is also fascinating, as it maintains the much-needed tension. “The Days of Knight” truthfully depicts the experiences of a knight who encounters something unnatural. The film has opened up a complex situation in the world of mafias, showing the challenges they face. The use of artifacts in the film illustrates how different cultures view knights and demonstrates the writer’s deep understanding of modern knights’ lives. Despite their strength, modern knights encounter formidable opponents, making their job both thrilling and extremely perilous. These contradictions make the film an intriguing watch.

Over the years, various covert organizations around the world have used force to retrieve valuables from different locations. Some have succeeded, while others have failed. The roots of some of these organizations run deep, going back to the aristocratic period, and they continue to operate today. This film is about them – it explores how the ancient game is still present but in a different form. However, this doesn’t mean the film is similar to the Godfather series. It has all the elements to keep you hooked and entertains you with its story without being an art house film. This film is worth watching, and I give it 4 stars out of 5. I highly recommend watching this film without any doubt.
